REHEARSALS UPDATE
Rehearsals have now begun for our October production of “The Haunted Through Lounge at Farndale Castle”. This follows our presentations of two other plays in the series involving the antics of the Farndale Avenue Ladies Guild Dramatic Society – “The Farndale Murder Mystery” in 2017 and “Farndale – A Christmas Carol” in 2019. Those of you who have long memories may also remember the Thesps first foray into the world of the Farndale Ladies Guild from our 1988 production of “They Came From Mars And Landed Outside The Farndale Avenue Church Hall In Time For The Ladies Guild Coffee Morning” – the poster for which would barely fit on our notice board! The plays are always a joy to rehearse as well as to watch!
We have also added two extra meeting on Thursday July 14th & Thursday July 21st from 7-9pm at the theatre. These are specifically to read, and hopefully, cast the planned production of “Say It With Flowers”, by Jane Thornton, in May 2023. A warm welcome is extended to anyone who would like to come along.
Mavis and husband Stan, a keen gardener, are not hitting it off these days. Fresh off the back of their latest amateur Dramatics production, the Parish Players learn that circumstances beyond their control are forcing them to abandon the Parish Hall. Without anywhere to stage their plays, they decide to pull on their gardening gloves and enter the regional “Village in Bloom” competition in order to express their artistic flair. But not everyone is keen on the idea, and the seeds are quickly sown for a hilarious yet touching exploration of a village’s competitive streak, when opposing forces collide and relationships suddenly sit on opposite sides of the fence in a world where not everything is coming up roses!
